CCI deputation calls on Dy CM

Jammu, Apr 25 : The President Chamber of Commerce & Industry Rakesh Gupta along with the other office bearers called on Dy. CM Dr. Nirmal Singh to discuss the demands of the Chamber regarding NIT Srinagar issue.
Chander Parkash Ganga Minister for Industries and Sat Sharma President State BJP were also present in the meeting. The officer bearers that included Arun Gupta Secy General , Deepak Aggarwal Vice President and Ashu Gupta Treasurer were also present. At the outset the Dy.CM apprised the Chamber President and his team about the initiatives taken by the state and the central government about the demands raised by the students that included security issues, faculty issues and issues pertaining to HRD Ministry. On this the Chamber made it very clear that the NIT issue was not handled timely and in a proper manner that led to all this happen later. The Chamber President expressed displeasure over the use of excessive force used by the police on the unarmed students that too inside the NIT campus for which there was no justification.
The chamber demanded permanent post of CRPF inside the campus as the local police had lost their credibility after their unjust action. It was made clear that JK Police, CRPF, BSF or Army etc were all the belt forces under the union of India hence it hardly mattered which wing of the force is deployed so that the students feel secured. The Chamber also demanded that the open FIR against the students be withdrawn. The Chamber also expressed serious concern as no action had yet been taken against the section of faculty who added fuel to the fire.
