Sumit Sharma Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 27: Janbaaz Sipahi Niralay of Kashmir Police Service (KPS) cadre are nowhere on papers and have limited promotion options, while as their counterparts in Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) are much ahead and seem to have a bright future. Authoritative sources informed to seek the attention of their top bosses, some of the police officers of KPS cadre met the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and gave some suggestions, including creation of the KPS cadre and administrative posts in different wings of police like Crime Branch, Vigilance Organization, CID and Military Liaison on the pattern like that of KAS officers who have been posted as secretaries. Sources said the Chief Minister assured the aggrieved officers that their issues would be redressed soon. Its in place to mention here that in the draft submitted to the Home Department, the then DGP Kuldeep Khoda had recommended to bring the KPS cadre at par with the cadre of other states across the country. Pertinently, the cadre pattern of police of other states like Punjab Police Service (PPS), Himachal Police Service (HPS), Delhi Police Service (DPS), Rajasthan Police Service (RJS), are different from JK police's cadre thus leaving the contradiction between the promotion policy of theirs and rankers. |
