Early Times Report
Jammu, May 1: After facing massive public outrage over the portrait of Dr. Sir Syed Mohd Iqbal (RA) installed at multiple purpose hall of Higher Secondary School Boys Kishtwar referring his name as " Iqbal Singh" Principal Parmila Sharma tried to down play the controversy by playing communal and political card through a defamatory massage circulated by her in social media including on a Whatsapp group namely "CEO Kishtwar" created by Ajay Thakur with CEO Kishtwar as co-admin of the group termed the news as politically motivated with potential of spreading a communal disharmony and also used defamatory words against the journalist for carrying the news item.
Habitual of creating controversy, the Principal on July 22, 2015 forced the students to clean the school premises as a result of which some students felt unconscious forcing the parents to agitate forcefully before the District administration. The agitating parents of the students at that time told the "Early Times" that Principal Parmila Sharma on the name of Swatch Bharat Abiyan is forcing the students to clean the school premises despite the fact that school has 13 peons and two CPW (Sweepers) for two blocks of the school. Not only this, couple of weeks before the said incident, Principal forced the students to clean the track hours before the arrival of BJP MoS Revenue Sunil Sharma who was invited by the school management to preside over the school function which itself is testimony to her political affiliation.
The lie of the Principal who tried to link the "Early Times" story with possible threat to communal harmony and peace in Kishtwar was caught on audio tape when on 23-04-2016, renowned poet and Professor at Degree College Kishtwar Dr. Tariq Hussain Dev alias Tariq Tamkeen during his address on the eve of army program on "Women Empowerment" pointed out the blunder committed by the school management by referring Dr. Sir Alama Iqbal as "Iqbal Singh, beside also pointing on wrong couplets attributing of Alama Iqbal and told the school principal who was sitting next to him as co-guest to remove the poster from the walls of the hall. "Iqbal Singh is SSP in Punjab-he is my friend-he is also a good poet" mocked Professor Tariq Dev.
When contacted Professor Tariq Hussain Dev confirmed that he had pointed out the mistake and urged the principal and school management to remove the poster added that it was surprising for him that despite showing a concern by him, the said poster was not removed till its news was published in the newspaper. Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan told the "Early Times" that the poster referring Dr. Alama Iqbal as "Iqbal Singh was removed from school hall as per his instruction added that the error is regretted. In a question regarding circulation of defamatory massage by the principal HSS Boys Kishtwar linking the news with communal disharmony and politically motivated, DC Kishtwar said that he will look into the matter. "Before checking the content of the massage--- I can't make any comment--- let me check first what she had circulated" said DC Kishtwar.
It is pertinent to mention that the poster has stocked a massive outrage among the educationist, social activists and also among the common people who slammed the school management for such act and allege that same has been done in a willful manner to defame the name of the legendary poet who dedicated " Sarre Jahan Sey Acha Hindustan Hamara" to the nation.
