New Delhi, May 1: Prof. Virendra Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Bhagwant University Ajmer visited International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) Trieste, Italy during March 29- April 6, 2016. He participated and attended the workshop 'Entrepreneurship for Scientists and Engineers in Developing World'. More than forty five scientists, engineers, industrialist, and students from across the world including Spain, Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Cuba, Romania, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Colombia, Indonesia, Vietnam etc attended this residential workshop. Prof. Sharma informed the delegates on current schemes of Central Government to promote Entrepreneurship amongst Indian Youth including Start Up India, Stand Up India, Digital India, special entrepreneurship scheme for SC/ ST etc. The workshop was organized by Indian origin Scientist from America Dr Raghu Surya and Dr Deepali Bhatt Chauhan of Institute of Physics, London. Speaker Dr Bernard of USA spoke on technological aspects, Japanese scientist Dr Humano Yumika working in UNO Switzerland detailed on legal aspects and patent laws. Dr Secher David from London gave a presentation on human perspectives for entrepreneurship, Dr Niemela Joseph of Italy briefed on sources of funding, Dr San Jose Rasula of Philippines described that the project work done by students leads them to become successful entrepreneur. Group were formed amongst participants with condition that two participants from same country cannot form a group. A total of twelve groups were formed. Group project on Recycling of Sanitary Napkins lead by IIT Delhi student Shatanu Nigam was judged the top proposal of the workshop. Entrepreneur Proposal for Solar Lighting of Rajasthan Villages by Prof. Sharma also got accolades from all participants due to solar energy being the need of present times. |
