Pak's cock and bull story
5/23/2016 11:30:59 PM
Since Pakistan does not show the nerve
to accept that the terror strike on the
Airforce base at Pathankot Islamabad has started concocting stories which do not go down the gullet of any normal person. Even those countries that have followed the incident and the elimination of Pakistan based terrorists may never buy the story dished out by Pakistan that the attack was engineered by some one within the airbase. Which actually means that some Indian national whether a civilian or a man from the Indian Airforce had masterminded the terror attack. In fact when the JIT members from Pakistan visited the Pathankot airbase they were given all possible proofs about the involvement of some Pakistani terrorists. At one time they were also requested to take back the bodies of the four slain Pakistani terrorists which the JIT members had refused. This refusal was the result of an attempt being made by Pakistan to keep its hands off the Pathankot terror attack. What is intriguing is the way soon after the return of JIT members to Pakistan the media in Pakistan floated stories that the JIT members had rejected India's claim of Pakistan's involvement in the terror attack. Even senior functionaries of the establishment in Islamabad remained non-committal on the issue and hence it was an advantage to India.
The Indian Army has rejected Pakistan's claim that there was an "insider" involved in January's predawn strike on the Indian Air Force's base in Pathankot and said investigators had already ruled it out. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has carried out a thorough probe an investigation and said that there was no inside hand. The statement of Pakistan's team is incorrect, Lt Gen KJ Singh, the General officer Commanding in Chief (GoC-in-C) of the western command of Army, has disclosed the other day. Singh said the attack on the airbase was "planned and sponsored" from across the border."It (the attack) was all sponsored, controlled, planned and logistics provided from across the border, especially by Jaish-e-Mohammed. People have been named, we have asked for Red Corner notice against them," he said.
The NIA investigation has carried a very thorough probe. The NIA members have screened the concerned people and a conclusive judgment has been arrived at that there was no insider hand. Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has remained vague on whether India would send a team to Pakistan to investigate the attack. Talks in this regard are on between foreign secretaries of the two countries. Pakistan had been positive about reciprocity at the time of sending its JIT in connection with the case. It seems that after the return of the JIT members to Islamabad Pakistan has started playing delaying tricks.
Well if Pakistan is certain that chief of Jaish-e-Mohammad,Masood Azhar is not involved why does not Islamabad allow the NIA members from India to investigate him. At least India had expected Pakistan to deal firmly with Masood Azhar because he has been trying to trigger violence in Kashmir by sending Jaish activists as terrorists to Kashmir. In the interest of cordial bilateral relations Pakistan should have banned Jaish-e-Mohammad. It has not done so and is still expecting New Delhi to reciprocate by reopening the channels of dialogue. When Pakistan's Joint Investigation Team (JIT) visited India in March to investigate the attack suspected to have been engineered by the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), a militant organisation based in Pakistan, the NIA members and the senior functionaries of the Aiforce base explained to the JIT members the way Jaish terrorists carried out the attack Some gunmen struck the airbase in the wee hours of January 2nd. Seven security men and the four gunmen were killed in the standoff that followed. And if proper screening of the four gunmen had been carried out by the JIT members even after they had been killed Pakistan would have not come up with cock and bull story.
