Sources informed Early Times that the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has recently conducted interviews for nearly 67 posts of College Principals and interviews for Srinagar division were concluded few days back.
"Nearly 67 Assistant Professors were made in-charge Principals by Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education department from time to time in the last more than five years, as with the retirement of Principals, posts have been falling vacant", sources said, adding that to run the show in colleges government had elevated senior Assistant Professors as College Principals and conformation was required to give them permanent status.
All the incharge College Principals as well as Assistant Professors with eight years of experience and seniors as per the seniority lists are eligible and were invited in the interviews by JKPSC, sources said.
During the interview process for confirmation of College Principals, sources said, the interviewers have found some of the incharge Principals as inefficient, short of professional knowledge and skills required to work on the posts, they have already occupied.
"Some of the Assistant Professors, invited in the interviews were found very much eligible for the posts and have got good marks in the interview process", sources said.
Given the poor performance of some in-charge College Principals, sources said, they are likely to be conformed and will not get place in Principals' lists and will ultimately dropped and some new faces will be inducted.
Sources further said that the lists would be shortly forwarded by JKPSC to Higher Education department, and later would publish it shortly. "It will be a shock for those, who will be dropped and a blissful movement for new faces.
