Early Times Report Jammu, May 23: The intelligence agencies have warned police and security forces of more terrorist attacks in days to come and asked them to remain alert. The warning was issued a few days before the today's attack on police personnel in Srinagar in which three cops lost their lives. Official sources said terrorists were able to kill the police personnel, who were unarmed, at a busy place, pointing to the fact that terrorists had developed deep intelligence network which was a matter of serious concern. The agencies have been getting information about the sinister designs of terrorists. Sources said terrorists wanted to step up their activities to create problems for the BJP-PDP government. "There is a definite plan on part of handlers of terrorists across the border to push the government in the corner and carry out more attacks, which also has an angle of attracting more local youth to terrorism," a senior intelligence officer said. The part of the strategy is to radicalise entire valley and go for killings of those connected to security forces or police even if they are locals to evoke strong public reaction "It's a dangerous trend which is emerging out and immediate steps need to be taken to stop it," said the senior official. |
