Fortis organizes free heart check- up camp

Jammu, Aug 21: Fortis Hospital Ludhiana in Association with Mahavir International Jammu centre organized free heart check- up camp at Nek Chand memorial Jain Hall, Rani park. A team of experts under the leadership of Dr V K Sharma, Punjab Rattan, Director- CTVS & Senior Intervention Cardiologist, Dr P S Sandhu from Fortis Hospital Ludhiana. More than 250 Patients were benefited in the camps, Basic heart investigations ECG & Blood Glucose was also provided to all registered patients with intention to motivate people to eat healthy & live well. Many people suffer serious illnesses from preventable diseases. By implementing these kind of free Medical & Heart Check up camps, we help in early detection as well as prevention of diseases, said Dr. VK Sharma.
This is a cardiac screening camp as a part of Fortis Ludhiana Community Outreach Program The problem of heart disease in the country has reached epidemic proportions Therefore the initiative by Fortis Hospital Ludhiana is a step towards educating the people about the various preventive measures, thereby detecting and treating cardiac problems, at an early stage, said Dr Sandhu.
