2 Kishtwar Imams among scores booked for sedition

Kishtwar Aug 21: After launching a massive creak down against the employees who participated in anti -India and pro -freedom protests in the aftermath of Hizb militant commander Burhan Wani killing last month , police booked two look Imams and several others for sedition and breach of peace in two different FIRs.
The fresh FIRs was registered on the bases of the report submitted by the duty magistrate U/S 196 Cr.Pc to the government and the administration appointed by the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar sector wise to accompanied by the police officials for maintaining law and order in Kishtwar District during shutdown call and protests held in retaliation to Kashmir unrest and civilians killings.
As per the details available with "Early Times", Police registered FIR No. 157 and 158 of 2016 under section 120 B (Criminal Conspiracy), 124 A (Sedition) and 153 A (Promoting Religious Enmity) at Police Station Kishtwar in which Imam Umar Mollah Masjid and senior separatist leader Abdul Qayoom Mattoo and Imam Bunastan Masjid Qari Manzoor Ahmed Ganie was named in both the FIRs along with another person Saif-ud-Baghwan son of Abdul Jabbar Baghwan resident of Baghwan Mohallah Kishtwar. Both Molvi Abdul Qayoom Mattoo and Saif-ud-Din Baghwan named featured in four Firs registered by the Kishtwar police in last over one months for anti India, Pro Freedom, Pro Pakistan and Pro Burhan Wani sloganeering. In FIR No. 157 besides Abdul Qayoom Mattoo and Saif-ud-Din Baghwan, Nisar Ahmed Baghwan, Firdous Ahmed Baghwan son of Khurshid Ahmed Baghwan, Amir Ahmed Dev son of Abdul Majid Dev, Javeed Ahmed Baghwan son of Jamloo Baghwan, Hafiz Manzoor Ganie (Imam Bunastan Masjid), Raju Kelam, Mohammad Iqbal resident of Guriyan, Nisar Ahmed resident of Hullar, Touseef Ahmed Najjar son of Mushtaq Ahmed Najjar and others.
In FIR No. 158 Abdul Qayoom Mattoo, Saif-ud-Din Baghwan, Nisar Baghwan, Firdous Baghwan, Hafiz Manzoor Ganie, Raju son of Jamal Din resident of Tanggwari, Nisar Ahmed resident of Hullar, Shabir Ahmed, Firdous Ahmed Want, Amir Qayoom son of Abdul Qayoom resident of Link road Kishtwar, Shakir Hussain, Arif Hussain son of Mohammad Akbar resident of Kichloo Mohallah and others were named.Earlier FIR No. 139/2016 and 140 of 2016 on 11-07-2016 against five persons.
As reported by "Early Times" in its 05-8-2016 edition , the accused persons named in the FIRs raised provocative slogans, Pro Freedom slogans and Anti India slogans. As per the contents of the FIR, Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo, Separatist leader Molvi Abdul Qayoom Mattoo and Imam Bunastan Masjid Hafiz Manzoor Ahmed Ganie made an announcement from the loudspeaker of Jamia Masjid Kishtwar calling for peaceful shutdown on 4/5-08-2016 against the killings of civilians in Kashmir unrest post HM Militant Burhan Wani death in an encounter with security forces in Kokarnag Kashmir added that the accused on the day assembled at Bus Stand Kishtwar and raised provocative and anti national slogans with an aim to make an attempt to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in this District.
The sources informed the "Early Times" that both the FIRs were though registered way back, but Kishtwar police kept the details of both the FIRs under carpet keeping in view on ongoing Machail Yatra before it was leaked to various security agencies keeping close eye on the prevailing situation in Kishtwar District due to ongoing Kashmir unrest. The state government soon after Kishtwar protest, suspended the internet services in Jammu Division, but lifted the same from five Districts of the Jammu while five other Districts including Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Rajouri and Poonch the internet services are still in suspended animation and the decision with regard to restoration of the Internet services in these five Districts will be taken tomorrow in a high level meeting of Divisional administration. When last report came in, no arrest has been made by police whose name featured in the FIRs registered by the police till date.
It is pertinent that police had also initiated inquiry against the several government employees who took part in anti India protest and had asked the Head of the Departments to with held the salaries of all those employees till pending inquiry. The police had also asked the HODs to ensure the attendance of only those employees who are physically present and threaten action against those HODs in case the employees were simultaneously found present in anti India protest as well as on attendance register during working hours.
