Patta Bohri resident lodge massive protest

Jammu, Aug 21: To lodge a strong protest against Government for its plan to construct housing flats in a thickly populated area on a piece of land owned by a Auqaf Department, the local resident under the banner of All Mohalla Welfare Committee Patta Bohri took out a massive protest rally led by Rajveer Singh.
Hundreds of local resident started the protest Rally from the Banquent kashmir Hills Resort and the rally passed through BSF gate Paloura ,Friends Colony, Bohri Chowk, Colonels Colony Anand Nagar and culminated at Patta Chungi near the proposed construction site .
The rally was addressed by senior local residence including Shri Rajveer Singh the leader of the protest movement. Speaking on the ocassion Sh. Rajveer singh lambasted the government for not paying any attention to the cause taken up by the local residence along back.He told the gathering and the media that the local resident of patta bohri has urged the government through civil adminstration for establishing the public park the purpossed construction site found by Auqaf Department, as that is the open and available piece of land in the areab But the government has not paid any attention towards repeated memorandum and protest.He further adeded that today local people of patta Bohri has decided to step up big protest forcefully and shall remain continue protesting until and unless their demand of establisment of public park is not met.
Rajveer Singh further appeled to the government that if we want our young men and women to bring medals and excel in sports,we have to create infrastructure for the same and the piece of land is an opportunity to provide a playing and refreshing spot to the children, young and old.He said that the area is thickly populated and their are a large number of peoples suffering from various disorders due to the stagnent city life style as government must provide a walking and a relaxing space to this section of society. Recently to large private Housing Projects by Royal Palms and Kamdhenu construct hunderds of flats near this proposed construction sites has come up. Due to enomrous growth in housing this Patta Bohri area is under huge ecological pressure and there is heavy pollution on slaught.
Rajveer singh said that if aquaf department is not ready to give land for public park than it is the duty of housing and urban devploment deparment to negotiate with the auqaf deapartment by providing them an alternative piece of land somewhere or by paying them the cost of land.In any case the government should intervene and listen to the woes of people of patta bohri before it is too late and the people could take to the streets.
