Irregularities, violations in teachers, masters transfers; vigilance probe demanded

Poonch, Aug 21: The academic side of all the educational institutions in Poonch district have been suffering badly as the Chief Education Officer along with his deputy has transferred over one thousand teachers and masters violating all norms of the transfer policy.
This has resulted into most of the teachers and master having launched an indefinite strike and not joining their new place of postings.
The teachers demanded vigilance probe and intervention of Education Minister and Commissioner Secretary into the matter.
The teachers/masters alleged that the Chief Education Officer Poonch Lal Hussain Choudhary along with his Deputy Chief Education officer Satpal Sharma have sidelined the proposals submitted by the cluster committees and violating all norms adjusted blue eyed on choice postings and sent others teachers/masters to for off places or odd areas where they have served for several years.
Sources told that the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Mohd Haroon Malik has also taken CEO's cognizance in this respect and asked him to modify the wrong postings and follow the transfer norms set by the education department.
The Chief Education Officer Poonch had issued first transfer list of teachers of 6th of August but the date written on the orders were of 29th of July and the teachers were asked to join immediately. The CEO had issued individual orders where as he had to issue transfer list.
The teachers alleged that the CEO Poonch not only side lined the cluster committees but also not considered medical cases or representations.
Ashish Gupta, a teacher said, "I have served over 23 years in odd areas and this time I hoped that as per the new transfer policy I would be adjusted in A zone but I was again sent to D zone where as many teachers who are influential got adjusted within zero Km that too without any solid reason"
Like Ashish there are many teachers and masters who hoped that after serving in C and D zones they would be adjusted within Poonch city but they were sent to inaccessible areas where locals of that particular areas could have been adjusted.
Since the declaration of the transfer lists over one hundred teachers and masters have not joined their duties which have affected the academic side of the educational institutions, sources said.
The ZEO's and cluster heads on the condition of anonymity said that that schools are running without teachers and masters and have been facing public wrath as the students go home without home work.
"The local public has a great anguish against the transfer authorities, as they have failed to do justice with the teachers and the students," said a ZEO The public in general demanded immediate modifications in the transfer lists so that the schools run smoothly. The teachers who have launched an indefinite agitation have threatened to take extreme step if they are not adjusted suitably with a weeks' time. Some female teachers have alleged that they were adjusted in odd areas and blue eyed were adjusted on choice postings.
