Machail yatra crosses one lakh mark, 112975 pilgrims pays obeisance at Machail temple

Kishtwar, Aug 21: Heavy rush of pilgrims continuous to reach at Matta Chandi temple at Machail in Kishtwar District and the yatra today cross the one lakh mark as 18237 today itself visited the Machail temple till 6 PM today.
As per the details available with "Early Times: 112975 pilgrims had so far visited the temple in last three week since the yatra was officially declared open.
The yatra arrangements was personally monitored by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan, DIG Doda-Kishtwar Range Nisar Ahmed, while SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir, ADC Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma, ASP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom are personally supervising the security and other arrangements for Yatries at Kishtwar. Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar Touseef Ahmed, Dy. SP Operation Irshad Ahanger had taken over the security responsibility of the yatra route from Thatri while SDPO Atholi Pardeep Sen along with Dy. SP DAR Manoj Kumar are camping at Padder to supervise Yatra arrangements. SHO Kishtwar Sameer Jeelani, Tehsildar Kishtwar Irshad Ahmed Butt and other officials of District Administration Kishtwar are also assisting in security and other administrative matters regarding safe passage to the pilgrims.
As per the tradition, after night halt at Ghoro Shankar Mandir Sarkoot Kishtwar, the Chari left for Padder on 19th and during its various stay at Gulabgarh, Matta Jawala Temple, Massu, Chasoti will finally reach at Machail on 22nd of August, where the main pujja and hawan will be performed for two days and on 25th the Chari will reach back to Gulangard Padder by the evening and finally back to Chandi Matta Temple Bhaderwah. More than 2 lac pilgrims were expected to visit the temple for seeking the blessing of goddess Matta Chandi presented in the form of Pindi along with Murti of Maa Kalli (Pure Silver), Maa Saraswati (White Marble) and Maa Lakshmi (Asthdat (Mixture of 7 minerals)). Last year about 1.75 lac pilgrims visited the shrine. District Administration along with police have made elaborated security arrangements though out 180 KM yatra route out of which near about 20 KM distance is to be covered by foot journey since there is no road connectivity to Machail village of Padder Tehsil of Kishtwar District situated at the height of some 13000 Ft above the sea level.
It worth to mention here that this year the remarkable strength of Yatries belong to other states of country were seen. The majority community peoples / leaders have also accorded the welcome to yatra which enshrines the communal harmony and brotherhood.
