Srinagar, Sept 26: The government has cancelled the grade promotion of Managing Director of J&K Handicrafts Sales and Exports Corporation (JKHC) after several cases of misuse of official position by him were brought to its notice.
The MD was also alleged to have illegally promoted 210 employees of the corporation. He was also alleged to have supplied misleading and incorrect information to state assembly about the appointments made by the corporation for the last three years.

But as per reliable sources, the MD had made as many as four appointments in the handcrafts (S&E) corporation. "The said backdoor appointees are as on date posted in various branches of handicrafts corporation," sources alleged.
The alleged backdoor appointees included Syed Anzar posted in Residency Road branch, Jammu, Gousia posted at head office of Handicrafts Corporation, Srinagar, and Richa posted in Residency Road branch, Jammu. The fourth one is alleged to be posted in Baba Kharag Singh Marg branch of Handicrafts Corporation.
Sources alleged that these influential people had been appointed in JKHC in violation of rules and the MD had deliberately mislead the state legislature by providing misleading information. Providing incorrect and misleading information to state legislature is considered to be a heinous crime, and the guilty can even lose his job.
The MD had also managed to get promotion for himself in the grade of 34400 -67000 with a grade pay of Rs 8700 vide order No 119 JKHC of October 24, 2014 allegedly against the rules it was not authenticated by GAD. The Industries department, which is the administrative department for Handicrafts Corporation, had vide its order No 149- IND of August 3, 2016 finally cancelled the said order as the same had been issued by the corporation itself in violation of norms.
In addition to cancellation of the grade promotion order, the industries department had also cancelled all the 210 promotions allegedly made by the MD in the corporation, sources said. |
