Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 26: Strongly flaying the BJP for surrendering even the bonafide rights and claims of people of Jammu region, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minster has lamented the denial of ex-gratia to the Army martyrs and neglect of Jammu region in the matter of SPOs recruitments. He said that while people of Jammu region were seething with anger against the incumbent govt. for dis-respect to martyrs, the BJP Leaders were making highly absurd and ludicrous statements to justify denial of ex-gratia to such martyrs. He said that the BJP's justification for denial of ex-gratia to martyrs on the ground that congress had also refused it for Sunjwan martyrs, was highly preposterous and outrageous. He said that such an obnoxious statement of BJP was not only an insult to brave hearts, when all other states had duly honoured their sacrifice, but had also turned the heat in Jammu into a furnace. He said that people of Jammu region including the civil society and even staunch supporters of BJP had strongly condemned such insensitive statements which were issued only to keep the PDP in good humour and thereby keep the position of junior partner in govt intact. Seeking immediate announcement of ex-gratia and SRO 43 benefits for NOKs of martyrs, Harsh Dev Singh announced to launch a full throttle campaign against BJP's acts of surrender and subterfuge. He deplored that the saffron party which had climbed the ladder of power by its jingoistic rhetoric had dis-regarded the supreme sacrifices of national heroes only for its lust and greed. Regarding the neglect of Jammu region in the process of recruitment of 10,000 SPOs, Harsh Dev Singh lamented that it happened for the first time in history that all posts sanctioned for the state were assigned to Kashmir to the exclusion of Jammu and Ladakh regions.
