Srinagar, Oct 12: Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have achieved a major success when a wanted stone pelter evading arrest since 2008 was arrested in the down town city. Official sources said here today Sheikh Sarafraz, carrying a reward of Rs one lac, was wanted since 2008 when there were massive protests across the Kashmir valley on Amarnath land row case. Sheikh was arrested by the police, they said. Police has arrested about 10000 alleged stone pelters and separatists in the Kashmir valley since July 9, a day after Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Burhan Wani and two other militants were killed in an encounter in Anantnag. Subsequent violence later left 86 persons, mostly youths dead in security force and police action.
