"First three officers in the list, Viplav Kumar Choudhary, posted as IG Traffic, Garib Dass and Vijay Kumar went on deputation as Inspector General of Police", sources said, and added that rest of the officers are holding the charge of DIGs, at their previous place of postings. Presently Surinder Kumar Gupta is holding charge of Deputy Inspector General of Police Udhmapur-Reasi range. While Johny William is holding charge of Inspector General of Police Rajouri-Poonch range. Ahfadul Mujtaba, Director SSG J&K, an IPS officer of 1998 batch was cleared for promotion as the IGP. "Lack of planning and anticipation in department, is literally humiliating us", said one of the officer waiting for his transfer. "In an attempt to deceive us, the department has put our further postings on hold on pretext of shortage of DIGs, contrary to sufficient numbers of DIGs who are on deputation", sources said, and added that to bring them (deputationists) back not a big deal for government. "I know, there is law and order problem in state, but why we are being made the scapegoats", the officer said, and added that they feel humiliated. Sensing foul play, they said that promotion order issued by the Home department itself seems biased. "The order of posting in respect of the officers at S.No.1,4,5 and 6 will be issued separately. However, till such time, they will continue to look after their present assignments", Government Order No.443-Home of 2016, Dated: 29/07/2016 reads.
