Two Jaish OGW among 8 arrested | | | Srinagar, Oct 22: Two Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were among eight persons arrested during day-long search operations in the old town in north Kashmir district of Baramulla yesterday. Official sources said Army, paramilitary forces and police conducted a fresh house-to-house operation in some areas in the old town yesterday during which eight persons were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in anti national activities. However, during the questioning of arrested persons, two of them later confessed that they are working as OGW of JeM. On their disclosure security forces later recovered one ak rifle and a pistol besides some other arms and ammunition. Both the OGWs have helped militant to attack on Army convoy in which a soldier and a police constable were killed on August 17. In earlier similar search operation in old Baramulla town security forces arrested 44 alleged anti national elements besides recovered Chinese and Pak flags and other incriminating documents. |
