Jammu, Jan 1: Anti-Corruption Bureau Jammu has registered a formal case under FIR No.47/2018 u/s 5(1) (e) read with section 5(2) J&K Prevention Corruption Act. Svt. 2006 against Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh S/O Muhammad Sharief Sheikh R/O Village Sanai (Khellani) Tehsil Bhalla District Doda presently residing on rent in a Flat Makka Hills, near Makka Masjid, Bathindi Jammu, Jr. Assistant of JAKFED presently posted as Jr. Assistant in Deputy Commissioner Office, Kishtwar on the allegations for accumulating huge movable / immovable assets quite disproportionate to his known legal sources of income.
The instant case was registered on the basis of a verification during which it has surfaced that accused Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh has accumulated a triple storey house at village Sania (Khellani) Tehsil Bhalla District Doda and a double storey house at Gulmarg Colony, Bathindi. One more double storey house No.5 in lane No. 2/83 at Roopnagar (Chak Changerwan)existed in the name of his wife in revenue records. Verification further revealed that the accused has purchased Duster Car, is in possession of a Scorpio and has huge balances in bank accounts as well as in the shape of FDRs.
The expenditure incurred, the value of assets acquired and the balance in the bank accounts of Sh. Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh have been found to be away more than the income earned by him from all known sources. Which constitute offences punishable under prevention of Corruption Act. In order to unearth more valuable evidences regarding disproportionate proprieties held on the name of accused public servant and his family members, simultaneous raids were conducted by the ACB sleuths both at Doda and Jammu in the presence of independent witnesses, Magistrates and with the help of local police. During raids documents pertaining to various immovable properties acquired by accused public servant were recovered and seized.
