| Prez, VP Udhampur MC to finally take oath on Jan 3 | | |  Ashwani Sharma

Udhampur, Jan 1: The president and the vice president of the Udhampur Municipal Committee shall take oath on Thursday, January 3.
Dr. Yogeshwar Gupta and Surinder Singh Khalsa were elected to the said positions respectively, but despite their elections, they could not take oath of the office till now, which had caused lot of confusions within the Municipal Committee and its fall out was clearly visible on the streets and lanes of the town in the form of stink and insanitation.
ET had raised the issue in its report titled "MC Prez, VP yet to take oath as problems heap up in town'' published on December 30 last as the local had raised hue and cry over the state of affairs within the MC and its effect on the sanitation situation in the town.
Taking cognizance of the ET report and the public sentiment at large, the Executive Officer of the MC Udhampur, Santosh Kotwal finalized and announced January 3, 2019 as the date of the oath ceremony, which would put an end to uncertainty and streamline the functioning of the MC to the relief of the residents. |
