While, Chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has given clarion call to make J&K a corruption free state by giving teeth to State Vigilance Organization (SVO) which managed a commendable job to come to expectations of Chief minister, some vested interest elements are putting spoke in the wheels of the organization, it has been learnt.
According to the sources, it is just dampening the spirits of the enthusiasm from the concerned officials when their investigating reports simply are put aside due to the red-tapism in the government set up in the civil secretariat.

Meeting their separated siblings and touching the soil of their birth after several decades, every visitor coming from the other side of fence have always expressed the only wish –a chance to die and get buried at the birthplace.
Some people like 107 years old Nawab Din even petitioned before the state High Court seeking the judicial intervention to get a chance of living at the birth place till death. With the rail networks getting increased attention in Jammu and Kashmir, the Government is considering setting up of an independent wing for Railways after its separation from the Crime Branch.
Jammu and Kashmir has a joint wing of Police looking after the Crime and Railways. In order to further strengthen the railway security grid in Jammu and Kashmir the state government is contemplating bifurcation of Department of Railways and crimes.
According to official sources, after the launch of the railway services to Udhampur the need was felt to bifurcate the crime and railways in order to address the security related issues.

In a sequel to the Prime Minister's intervention on the internal confidence building measures among various segments of society, the state government has asked the concerned authorities to make a list of the properties of Kashmir migrants who had lest their homes and hearths on the onset of militancy.
This instruction has been given following there commendation of the Working Group, constituted on the advice of Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh. More than 3000 passengers, including women, children and drivers spent a sleepless night in the freezing temperature on the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway due to heavy traffic jam.
It was all confusion and chaos and no official from traffic department or BEACON was available to confirm why the vehicles had been stopped on the highway, passengers traveling from Srinagar to Jammu lamented.
They said it was free for all and one could see vehicles parked wrongly which added to the confusion and road block for more than six hours.

Another incident of distress killing took place in Army today as a Trooper ended his life by shooting himself in a fit at Bimber Gali Rajouri allegedly after he indulged in heated arguments with his seniors .
Sources told that Sepoy Ganesh Chander of 52 Engineer's regiment shoots himself dead with his service weapon early this afternoon. They said that Ganish had a heated argument with his senior on some trivial matter.
