JAMMU | JAN 27 The opposition National Conference today cornered the coalition govt during the question hour while referring to a grenade attack on a tourist bus near Dal Gate during the last tourist season. They wanted to know from the tourism minister Dilawar Mir about the political affiliations of the youth, who had been detained in connection with the grenade attack and later released. The leader of the Opposition, Abdul Rahim Rather said," the issue is very serious and the house has the right to know the details of the investigation at the consequent release of the detainee". He said the issue is important because tourist bus had been attacked. “We do not want to get maligned by the incident because tourists, who come to our state are our guests.” Tourism Minister Dilawar Mir in his reply evaded the question put forth by opposition and said “We should not give undue publicity to a single incident of grenade attack because bigger incidents have taken place in various other cities”. ISLAMABAD | JAN 27 Pakistan has formed a special team to probe the suicide attack on the Marriott hotel, hours before the Indian High Commissioner held a Republic Day reception there, even as security was hightened across major cities and airports of the country. Interior Secretary Sayed Kamal Shah said a special unit of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), headed by a DIG, has been formed to investigate the blast. Jammu | Jan 27 In a bizarre incident of its own kind, a newly born baby was left outside a temple by his parents at Rehari area this morning. According to reports, priest of the temple spotted a new born, left by his parents outside the temple, and immediately informed the police about the matter. Srinagar/Jammu | Jan 27 Forest Minister Qazi Muhammad Afzal today ordered suspension of four employees including a forester following the arrest of a police driver from whom smuggled timber worth lakhs was recovered in Ganderbal area, here late last night. Official sources said that residents of Aarhama, Ganderbal had approached forest minister Qazi Muhammad Afzal alleging that a police driver was smuggling timber from the area in connivance with some forest officials.
