The Rubiya Syed kidnapping case, which was listed for today for hearing, was adjourned due to the strike by the Advocates.
The alleged accused in the kidnapping case namely Mohd Yaseen Malik Supremo JKLF, Showkat Ahmed Bakshi, Ali Mohd Mir, Javid Mir alias Nalka, Mehraj-ud-Din Sheikh, Mohd Iqbal Gandroo, Mohd Zaman Mir and Farooq Ahmed Dar alias Bitta-Karate were present in the court whereas Mohd Yaqoob Pandit, Wajahat Bashir Qureshi, Manzoor Ahmed Sofi and Mohd Rafiq alias Nanaji was absent and on their behalf application for exemption was filed in the Court of TADA/POTA which was granted by the Court.

Kashmir will soon have its first Institute of Traumatology to be set up at a cost of Rs. 120 crore. The design of the prestigious project was presented to the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad at a high level meeting here today who asked for certain changes to protect the old Chinars in the upcoming complex site at Shireen Bagh in the summer capital and allow greater space for visitors to the hospital.
The proposed 200-bed Institute is a part of up-gradation programme for the two medical college hospitals at Srinagar and Jammu to the AIIMS level.

A local court today sentenced a Pakistan-trained militant to 18 years in prison, seven years after he was arrested along with an accomplice for infiltrating into Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Principal sessions judge J R Kotwal convicted and sentenced Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) trained militant Raja Muzaffar Ahmed to undergo 18 years of imprisonment under diffderent Acts after hearing the arguments of public prosecutor E A Tak appearing for the state and the defence counsel Dinesh Verma.
The offence committed by the accused was 'serious' as well as 'heinous' and he did not deserve 'leniency', the court observed before convicting him.
