Close on the heels of a court ordering re-investigation in Srinagar sex sleaze, another sex racket has been reported active in Jammu. While the valley scam has put blot on the faces of some ministers, legislators and senior police officials; the one active in Jammu is learnt to have been run by ‘keep’ of an IAS officer.
For those who do not forget old happenings; the mistress is a woman with criminal background and was once taken into custody by police for involvement in a vehicle lifting case. However, this IAS officer had used his influence and saved the woman, sources said.
According to the sources, the racket being run by this woman has spread widely in the city with various senior bureaucrats, politicians and senior police officers not only act as customers but help her in running the racket.

In a goodwill gesture, the state government is releasing around 30 detenues, on the eve of Eid, against whom only petting charges are leveled.
Sources said that maintaining precedence past years, the Crime Investigations Department of Jammu and Kashmir Police (also headed by the DGP) is reported to have cleared the names of 30 detenues for their release.
A meeting of senior police officers was held in Srinagar last evening and it was decided that around 30 militants who have either completed their terms or those who were held on charges like carrying weapons and were not involved in crimes like murder, massacres or rapes be freed.

More than a fortnight ahead of the scheduled closing for next months, the summer secretariat has already almost shut down in Srinagar as no official business is being executed for non-availability of most of the ministers and officers.

Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad has placed the ball in the court of the PDP patron, Mufti Mohd.Sayeed, by seeking his advice on the latest letter written by Qazi Mohd.Afzal in which he had requested Azad to accept his resignation from the cabinet.
