10/13/2012 11:32:04 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 13: It's very good news. The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, which is headed by State Governor NN Vohra, has agreed to widen the road between Baltal and the Holy Cave Shrine of Baba Amarnath. It may start the work soon. The objective is to make the annual Amarnath Yatra a smooth affair. If all goes well, work would be completed well before the commencement of Yatra in 2013. The Shrine Board has not only agreed to widen the road between Baltal and the Holy Cave, but also agreed to create more facilities for the pilgrims to ensure that no pilgrim meets the fate which over 100 pilgrims met this year. More than 100 pilgrims lost their precious lives this year due to the absence of the required facilities, including healthcare facilities, en-route the Holy Cave Shrine. It was none other than the Shrine Board lawyer who informed the Supreme Court only the other day that the Shrine Board will do two things at the earliest. First, it will widen the road leading up to the Cave Shrine. Second, it will create all the required facilities for pilgrims. Significantly, ...

Bharat Bhushan JAMMU, Oct 13: It was surely the blackest day for Somi and his family when he lost his arms and a foot in a bomb blast just outside his residence at Kalri, about 10 km from here near Kot-Bhalwal, on January 23, 2001, when he was 14. He had instantly lost his arms, right foot and a portion of the left thigh muscle in the explosion that went off directly underneath him and almost killed him. Is PDP capable of carrying Jammu with-III
10/13/2012 11:29:59 PM
Bashir Assad SRINAGAR, Oct 13: Now, when the regional character of the politics is debated and the roadmaps offered by the regional political of Jammu and Kashmir are before us, the question still remains as to how the people of Jammu could identify themselves with the regional political formations having their ideological locations in Kashmir. First, the demographic realities have to be accepted and for that any argument is certainly fraught with dangerous consequences and is likely to widen the persisting divide along religious lines. Given this hard reality the demand for separate statehood as the demand was combined with the empowerment by some people, could be even more dange...

BAJ for ending discrimination with Jammu Pradesh
Meeting With Shinde
10/13/2012 11:29:50 PM
Neha JAMMU, Oct 13: Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) is one non-political organization in Jammu Pradesh which has consistently fought for the general political and economic rights and interests of its people. It, like the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), has seldom missed any opportunity that came its way to project the case of grossly ignored and politically marginalized people of Jammu Pradesh. It has been active particularly since the 1980s, when the then Chief Minister Faroooq Abdullah planned to end the age-old practice of Durbar move and establish the civil Secretariat in Srinagar on a permanent basis. Farooq Abdullah had to eschew the move under pressure from Jammu. Ever since the...
