| Now a Pro-India salvo from Dr Kamaal | | What after all in his game plan? | | | early times report
Jammu, Nov 14: Commenting on the latest acrimony between senior NC leader Dr Mustafa Kamaal and his nephew, state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the PDP spokesperson Naeem Akhtar has said the diametrically opposed views held by the two are actually nothing more than a well wrought out division of political labour between the two.
Akhtar has based his assertions on the long history of the NC which has been blowing hot and cold in the same breath depending on which side of the bread has butter for the leaders of the party.
Quoting from the past, the PDP spokesperson said the formation of the Plebiscite Front which sought the right of self-determination by the NC leader, Mirza Afzal Beg with the tacit approval of the party patron, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah was actually the first evidence of the division of political labour in the NC. While Beg orchestrated the Plebiscite Front, the Sheikh was not even its basic member.
Despite the concern shown by the Congress leadership regarding the statement made by the NC senior leader, the party high command has been doing not... | |

JAMMU, Nov 14: CM Omar Abdullah's uncle and NC president and Union Minister Farooq Abdullah's brother, Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal, on Monday only restated in more clear terms what he, like others in the party, really believes in and, hence, highly disturbing, but not surprising. He denounced India as the "enemy" and Pakistan a friend. He said Pakistan is not the enemy of Kashmiri Muslims. "Pakistan stands for no-war pact with India, New Delhi is not" and that "it is New Delhi which is the root cause of all the troubles facing the sub-continent and Kashmir," he also said.
