If the Police were caught napping, things would have been different. The cops were seen lunching with the guirellas at a public place, thought withno utterior motives but the public order was clear at risk.
The breach of security was seen when a groupt of militants, being taken from Kotbhalwal central jail to Kupwara for their court apopearances, when they halted at a restauratn in Bus stand area for lunch and misbehaved with media men when they were caught on cameera.
Tension mounted in teh area for some time as gun totting police men created having lunch with militants outside bus stand area.

A Division Bench of Jammu and Kashmir High Court has passed directions for inviting offers from the banks for sale of properties of the infamous Gopal Arya Mission.
The Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakru and Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain declined to settle auction at throw away price as offered in auction of two properties. One property is reported to be worth Rs 1.40 crores and other 9.50 lakhs which according to the Receiver is on much lower side. Same is the view of the counsel for the company.

It is reliably learnt that the incumbent Chief Election Officer BR Sharma has expressed his “hesitation” in leading the major electoral exercise due next year. Sharma had taken over as Chief Election Officer of Jammu and Kashmir in early 2006 from Dr Pawan Kotwal who is presently Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office.

A day after senior Peoples Democratic Party leader and Finance Minister Tariq Hameed Qarra criticized former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah for his Modi-praise, the National Conference patriarch today “reminded the PDP of its origin”.
Qarra had accused Dr Abdullah of being Sangh Parivar sympathizer after the NC leader commented that Gujarat people voted for Narendra Modi’s development plank. Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today had a meeting with Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in New Delhi where the matters pertaining to implementation of the Working Group recommendations were discussed.
According to an official spokesman, the meeting, also attended by the representatives of Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Home Ministry and External Affairs Ministry, discussed threadbare implementation of the recommendations of the Working Groups.
The meeting also discussed enhancement in rent of private land and property under the use of army in Jammu and Kashmir.

As the row between the Leh SSP Alok Kumar and the Army authorities in the Himalayan cold terrain refuses to settle down the Jammu and Kashmir Home department has slapped a final notice on the Army to produce its officers and men for question.
There is a long standing run down between the Leh SSP Alok Kumar and the Army authorities after the alleged food and cloth scam in Siachen Glacier. This is the third and final notice and after this the police will approach a court for issuing non-bailable warrant against the officials besides seeking a direction to the Army for providing details about the scam, official sources said.
