Those who got the fuel tanks of their vehicles filled up this night were lucky enough –though till the present filling exhausted. As you wake up in the morning and rush to the filling station, you will find diesel and petrol dearer –yet another whole in the common man’s pocket.
After months of dithering, the government today finally raised petrol price by Rs 2 a litre and diesel by Re one per litre with effect from midnight tonight.
As the Television channels beamed this news, a huge rush of vehicles was seen at petrol pumps to make some last minutes savings. Hurry was particularly seen among the commercial vehicles as their fuel tanks with capacity of over hundred liters would have saved them few hundreds rupees before the midnight.
