Bird flu scare as two migratory bird die

Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 2 Even as there are apprehensions over spread of bird flu in the sate following reports on death of two migratory birds, CPD and Animal & Sheep Husbandry minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din has said that there was nothing to worry about. In a statement here he has stated that no case of the bird flu has been detected here. Fears of bird flu striking Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana have emerged after death of some birds in these states even as the Centre said it was planning to start culling operations in West Bengal's neighbouring states to prevent the spread of deadly virus. Back home, calling upon people not to pay any heed to rumors Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Taj Mohi-ud-Din has said that no case of bird flu has been detected in the state. Taj said, “Comprehensive precautionary measures have been taken as every vehicle entering the check post at Lakhanpur and Lower Munda are being checked round the clock to ensure that no infected bird enters the state”. Bhaderwah without SDPO for two yrs

Early Times Reporter Bhaderwah | Feb 2 It is surprising that Bhaderwah town, the home constituency of the Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, is without any Sub District Police Officer (SDPO) for the last two years as a result there is no proper supervision on the police posts. Talking to EARLY TIMES some of the residents of the town said that non-absence of the SDPO has adversely affected the working of the Police Department in Bhaderwah. They said that two years back Arif Rishu SDPO Bhaderwah was promoted to ASP operation at Doda and since then no SDPO has been posted in the town. Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 2 In a major achievement security forces nabbed five militants from Bathindi area. According to sources police personnel after having specific information laid a naka and during naka nabbed a person and took him to interrogation centre. During interrogation it was found that the said person a student having links with (LeT) outfits. During interrogation he also revealed that he had some associates in area .
