SRINAGAR, Mar 28: Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir called for focused attention towards enhancing production & productivity of Saffron, as there is great demand for Kashmiri Saffron both in domestic as well as worldwide.
The Minister was addressing saffron growers after distributing Rs. 67 lakhs among 133 saffron growers of district Srinagar, who have participated this year in rejuvenation of saffron corms under “National Mission on Saffron” at Lal Mandi Srinagar. He said that Government would provide all requisite facilities to the growers for producing quality saffron in the State.
Mr. Mir advised farmers to adopt intensive production technology in saffron to bring back pristine glory of this heritage industry of Jammu & Kashmir. He also advised growers to avail the benefits of National Mission on Saffron & cooperate with Agriculture department for successful implementation. Srinagar, Mar 28: The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today stressed for expediting the implementation of different developmental and welfare schemes being launched so that employability for unemployed educated youth be created.
