Jammu, May 17
An army personal committed suicide by shooting himself with
his official weapon inside Nagrota Corps Headquarter, near here, this morning.
Well informed sources revealed that Sepoy Manbir Singh of 54 Rashtriya Rifles
was on deputation to Human Recourse Department, Nagrota where he was being
imparted Kashmiri language.
The jawan shoot himself with his official AK 47 inside his residential barrack
at around 3 AM, causing his on the spot death, sources added.
However, defence spokesman Lt Col Goswami told News Agency of Kashmir that the
body of the solider was found under mysterious circumstances inside his barrack.
"The police is investigating the matter and in the meanwhile, army authorities
have also ordered court of inquiry", he added.
The spokesman refused to divulge the cause of death and said, "Let the
investigation be completed and every thing would be clear".

Much awaited reshuffle in Jammu and Kashmir cabinet is likely to be affected within few days with chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad roping in one each member from Congress and Peoples Democratic Party in the council of ministry.
While Speaker Tara Chand is being replaced by former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Baig, the former would be inducted in the state cabinet.
If sources are to be believed, People's Democratic Party MLA and former
minister Hassan Mir is slated for the office of deputy chief minister.

The Union government has issued a directive, urging the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel to seal the entry points along the Indo-Bangladesh border. This apart, States with their border with Bangladesh have also been asked by the Centre to render asisatance and cooperation to the BSF personnel and intelligence agencies in their "crucial" task of rendering ineffective Bangladeshi infiltrators into the Indian territory.

Young Panthers today staged a protest demonstration against sanitation fee imposed by Jammu Municipal Corporation. Vinod Singh Jamwal, State Youth secretary Panthers Party led the protests and demanded revoking of the said proposal.
Addressing the protestors, Vinod said that it is not possible for everybody to pay Rs. 50 for house and Rs100 for shops. Government has already imposed countless taxes on poor people.
