agencies New Delhi, May 22: Listing out the achievements of nine years of UPA government at the Centre, Prime Minsiter Manmohan Singh said that next year they will report directly to the people to seek a renewed mandate. Starting on a philosophical note the PM said, "UPA government has taken the country forward but we have many more miles to travel." Manmohan Singh while unveiling UPA's report card began with the achievements of his government on the economic front. "The country saw an improved performance of economy and inclusive growth under our government. We are the one of the fastest growing economy in the world including the years where we saw a slowdown," he said. However, he added that there was a period of slowdown but he attributed it to a slowdown of world economy. "Slowdown was a global phenomenon," he said. The PM stressed that inflation was coming under control and that under UPA government a good record in rural growth had been witnessed. agencies New Delhi, May 22: The Delhi High Court today discharged 17 witnesses of the charges of turning hostile during the trial in Jessica Lall Murder case saying "no prima facie" case has been made out against them for initiation of perjury proceedings. A bench of justices S Ravindra Bhat and G P Mittal absolved several out of the 17 witnesses holding "they had not resiled from a sworn testimony". agencies MUMBAI, May 22: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday filed its chargesheet in the Malegaon 2006 bomb blast case against four accused Lokesh Sharma, Dhan Singh, Manohar Singh and Rajendra Choudhary. The chargesheet, running into five volumes, was filed in a Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) court of special judge Prithviraj Chavan. Ramji Kalsangra has been shown as absconding accused in the chargesheet. agencies New Delhi, May 22: CBI on Wednesday filed a charge sheet against former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs 8.42 crore during his tenure. "The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a charge sheet against ex-Chief Minister of Jharkhand in the Court of Special Judge, CBI, Ranchi for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
