JAMMU, July 22: State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has again kindled hopes of an amicable settlement between the State Government and its workforce over the latter's demand for enhancement in the retirement age.
The Chief Minister reiterated recently that the Government had not closed its doors on its employees so far as the demand to increase the retirement age from the existing 58 years to 60 years was concerned. He also said negotiations and talks were still going on between the State Government and the leaders of the employees to reach an amicable settlement.

JAMMU, July 22: The increasing number of deaths during the first 26 days of Amarnath pilgrimage has lead to decrease in the number of yatris to holy cave for last one week. The number of pilgrims who visited holy cave during first fortnight of pilgrimage was over 20,000 pilgrims per day which has now come down to 10,000 pilgrims daily.
Sources said the main reason for decline in yatra rush was increasing number of casualties on the holy cave tracks both from Pahalgam and Baltal sides.

JAMMU, July 22: Chief minister Omar Abdullah virtually makes mockery of suffering and pains of people of Jammu reeling under forced power cuts by saying the Government has supplied more to Jammu this year in comparison to last year.
