It is now established political belief that Jammu and Kashmir's special status guaranteed under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution is being exploited for all evil purposes and usefulness, if any, has been subjected to erosions and intrusions. ...

Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 28: Union HRD Minister, Kapil Sibal made many important statements during his recent visit to the State, but one that was the most important was generally missed by the media.
While discussing the implementation of various Centrally funded national programmes in the State, the HRD Minister was highly critical of the State for what he called mismanagement, default and misappropriation of funds earmarked for some of the flagship national programmes. It is common knowledge that crores of funds are spent daily in the State on various Centrally funded and sponsored schemes like the MGNREGA and others.

jammu, July 28: Thanks to the official red-tapeism and lack of thoughtfulness, several places in Jammu region having tourism potential still lack basic infrastructure to cater to the various needs of the tourists and the tall claims turned phony and airy only when a NRI found the things contrary to the Government claims at picturesque lake Surinsar in Samba district.
Narrating personal experiences at Surinsar village, famous for its fresh water lake spanning over an area of 2.5 sq km is one such tourist resort in Jammu Division reflecting a grim picture of constant negligence at the hands of authorities concerned.
Going by the 'horrific experience' of a Jammu based touris...

Jammu, July 28: Notwithstanding his 'loud' presence in various parts of J&K during the past few months this year, former Chief Minister and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has once again pushed himself into 'political obscurity' in so far as his frequent visits to State are concerned. Azad may have his own calculations for halt in such visits or this might well be so on account of a sudden 'snapper' from New Delhi for varied reasons, but his absence for a quite long time from J&K scene has sent his loyalists in a tizzy and guessing mode.
After fiasco of political shows in Bhaderwah, Kishtwar last month, Union Health Minister made such a hasty retreat to New De...

Of course, reluctantly. In an interview given exclusively to a Kashmir-based English language daily, which appeared in its today's edition, Mirwaiz did commend Vajpayee and said that the former Prime Minister was quite keen to move forward on Kashmir. "It is ironical for us to say that NDA Government led by Vajpayee was keener to move forward on Kashmir. I think 2008, 2009 and 2010 had given an opportunity to the leadership of India to think, to discuss and deliberate but they chose to look on other side....
