| Is Panthers – NC alliance on cards? | | | |

Will the Panthers Party forge a pre-poll alliance with the National Conference? The question has started doing the round in the state after several National Conference MLAs pleaded stoutly for revocation of suspension of Panthers Party leader, Harsh Dev Singh, from the Assembly.
Since the National Conference has emerged as a vocal political force against the Congress-PDP coalition Government the way the Panthers Party leadership has been denigrating the ruling coalition day in and day out has brought the two on one platform. The National Conference leadership could reap a rich harvest if it forged an electoral understanding or alliance with the Panthers Party in the Jammu region. Since 2002 the Panthers Party has made inroad in various areas of Jammu province and this had enabled it to win four seats for the first time.

Central Government has released an amount of Rs.109.24 crore to Jammu and Kashmir State as first installment of funds under Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme for the current financial year against the provisional allocation of Rs.327.72 crores .
As per the guidelines for implementation of Rural Water Supply Programme, 15% of the funds under Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (ARWSP) is meant for Operation and Maintenance and 5% for taking sustainability measures under Sub-Mission.

Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today convened a high level meeting to discuss scarcity of drinking water in Jammu city and take immediate measures to cope with the situation.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Health, Mangat Ram Sharma, Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Muhammad Dilawar Mir and MLAs Yogesh Sawhney, Raman Bhalla. Legislator Abdul Majid Wani was also present.

Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that creation of new districts in Jammu and Kashmir was now a closed chapter and the Bleoria Committee was examining demands for setting up of new administrative units following carving out of 8 new districts in the State recently.
