Rajouri, September 13 - Emphasizing on developing broad vision in students through well planned system of education, Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has called for imparting high quality and purposeful education making students self-reliant and confident to face any challenge. He was addressing students and faculty members after inaugurating staff quarter complex and a hostel at the campus of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University at Dhanore here today. He congratulated the executing agency for completing the construction work under triple shift launched in the camps under his suggestion, which he said has positively resulted and the hostel-cum-staff quarter complex alongwith scholars home has been completed a head of time. Srinagar, Sept 13: Minister for Finance, Planning, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Ahmad Qarra on Wednesday stated that his party will soon present the "self-rule" proposal on Kashmir in a documented shape before the people and added the proposal encompasses the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir . Centre likely to announce ceasefire in J&K before Ramadan

New Delhi, Sep 13 The Centre is likely to announce a ceasefire for the holy month of Ramadan in Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at restoring lasting peace in the strife-torn state. Sources informed that if the militant organisations respond favourably the truce could also be extended. ''Ramadan will begin in the last week of September and negotiations are on with the militants. We are hopeful that the truce will be announced before that,'' the sources said. ''People in Jammu and Kashmir want peace and this would be the right beginning,'' they added. Jammu, September 13 : Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday suspended two policemen and initiated inquiry against six others in connection with the serious security lapse following which Personal Security Officer (PSO) of a senior journalist had managed to reach Mata Vaishnodevi shrine along with pistol. Sources in the police said that the after inquiry was initiated, state police authorities found two policemen missing from their duty since then. Besides this, inquiry was also initiated against six other policemen for showing laxity in duty. B L KAK NEW DELHI, SEPT. 13: MK Kaw, president of All-India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), has cautioned the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, against "a definite strategy" which is in place to change the ethnic composition of the Jammu region. And Kaw insists that there is also an attempt to drive a communal cleavage in Ladakh.
