Javed not involved in IC-184 hijacking: IGP Jammu | Separatist hardliner manages 'visa to Javed for Pak' | | Early Times Report
jammu, Sept 13: In a sharp contrast to the media reports about arrest of suspect of hijacking of IC-184, in 1999, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Dilbagh Singh today said it indeed is a major breakthrough for security forces though he (Javed) had no involvement in the hijacking of IC-814 plane but was trying to rejuvenate dying insurgency.
"There was no evidence about the involvement of arrested terrorist Mehraj-u-Din Wani alias Javed son of G.A. Dar of Sopore in the Kandahar plane hijacking," IGP Jammu Zone told journalists in a specially convened press conference here in winter capital.
While replying volley of questions, Singh said that Javed had direct relations with the top ISI officials and he was allegedly working with the D-Company of the Dawood Ibrahim after he established contacts with them in Pakistan. Javed was also being helped by an 'unspecified embassy' for the supply of arms and fake currency in parts of India, he added.
