Let’s move to new Parliament building with new hope, confidence: PM Modi

Agencies New Delhi, Sept 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tributes to “every brick” of the old Parliament building and said the MPs will enter the new building with “new hope and confidence”. In his over an hour-long speech in Lok Sabha, Modi remembered the journey of India’s democracy and said the last day in this heritage building should be dedicated to the over 7,500 parliamentarians who served in this building since Independence. Parliament will shift to the new building on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on Tuesday. “Today we have an opportunity to connect with the past. We are leaving this building with hope for the future. I am confident that as we enter the new Parliament building, we will go there with new hope and confidence,” the prime minister said. “Today is the day for remembering the 7,500 MPs who have served here… I salute every brick of this building,” he said. Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 18: Three hardcore over ground workers were booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) in Kishtwar district of the Jammu region on Monday, police said. Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal said that three hardcore OGWs have been booked under PSA. “The activities of trio after their bail was suspicious following which they have been booked under PSA and shifted to different jails of Jammu,” he said. Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 18: The State Election Commission Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir today notified the schedule for preparation of 2nd supplement to the Panchayat Electoral Roll, 2023 with 01-01-2023 as the qualifying date. According to a public notice issued here in this regard stated that the electors of the area can accordingly submit (File) claims and objections regarding additions, deletions, corrections and transpositions of entries in the existing Panchayat Electoral Roll to concerned EROS with effect from 20.09.2023 to 29.09.2023. Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 18: The operation to flush out terrorists holed up in the Gadole forest area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district entered the sixth day on Monday with security forces using drones to pinpoint the hideouts for carrying out attacks on the terrorists. Agencies New Delhi, Sept 18: India's Aditya-L1 solar mission spacecraft has commenced collecting scientific data to help scientists analyse particles surrounding Earth, ISRO said on Monday. The sensors on board India's first solar observatory have begun measuring ions and electrons at distances greater than 50,000 km from Earth, ISRO announced in a post on X.
