Fraudster dupes women in Pulwama
Obtains loan in their names from WDC

Srinagar, Sept 19 (KNS): In a bizarre incident, in the garb of a self help group, 15 women have been duped by a fraudster after obtaining loan to the tune of about 4 lakh from the State Women's Development Corporation in their names.
After setting up the Syed Ziaud Din Self Help Group Pulwama, a cheater obtained an amount of Rs. 3.75 lakh in the name of trainees belonging to economically weaker section of the society, even as the women have not applied for the loan or assistance. According to local news agency KNS, some economically poor families of district Pulwama used to sent their daughters to Self help Group Centre Pulwama under the impression that their skill could be improved to make it more suitable for earning in near future. Centre promised them of financial help on completing necessary training for establishment of their own respective units and financial assistance of rupees 25,000 on 5% interest. The owner of this centre Ghulam Qadir Ganie S/o Sanauaala Ganie R/o Lajora Pulwama deceitfully took the signatures and photographs from these trainees and applied for loan before women's Development Cooperation for rupees 3.75 lakh loan. These trainees include Sakina Akther D/o Manzoor Ahmad Najar, Aisha Banoo D/o Mushtaq Ahmad Najar, Asmat Jan D/o Farooq Ahamd,Aasya Jan D/o Manzoor Ahmad, Nelofar Jan D/o M. Yosuf, Shameema w/o Fayaz Ahmad Najar, Nazira Banoo w/o Showkat Ahmad, and Zahida D/o Ghulam Hassan. On 25th August 2012 these trainees came to know that they've been deceitfully made the debtor of the J&K bank branch Lajora. Victims have met and brought the whole matter in the notice of Managing Director Women's Development Corporation Naheed Soz who in return has assured them every possible help and assistance. Soz said that she has taken the cognizance of the matter and have forwarded necessary directions to the authorities.
