| Embarrassing situation for BJP media cell | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 19: Confusion profounds the high tech BJP Media Cell and the party which is yet to overcome the shock of cross voting by its seven MLAs in 2010 with a newly inducted office bearer by passing it and leaking the reports to media putting the party leadership in an embarrassing situation.
This over ambitious office bearer of the Party who has been recently inducted in BJP has on various occasions taken a unilateral decision on party matters and leaking the information either to media or making statements on his behalf. Such a behavior of a junior functionary of the Party has put the senior leadership in an embarrassing situation especially when other members of media fraternity sought clarification from Party leadership on such reports.
According to sources this junior and over enthusiastic Partyman having scant respect for the protocol and precedence in the Party is not only ignoring the Party's media cell but also surpassing his senior leaders and supplying information to media persons on his own even on those matters which are the issues of Party's policy decision.
Recently this junior functionary of the Party went to some media men of the State and informed them that the report of BJP's Parliamentary Study Group headed by former national president of the Party Raj Nath Singh on J&K is ready and it will be released within soon.
When some newspapers carried this story the BJP senior leaders including State president of the Party were caught by surprise as the report had no authenticity. They were in an embarrassing situation after the media persons raised some questions about the report which was not based on facts. Actually the BJP Parliamentary Study Group members had assigned the task of compiling the interactions made by the Study Group with cross section of the people in J&K during their visits to three regions of the State. The State leaders were asked to compile the suggestions and demands made by these people before the Study Group so that they will not feel any difficulty in framing the report and half of their task will become easy by this way. Though the entire media persons were knowing it and as himself Rajnath Singh during his various visits to J&K as head of the Study Group had made it clear to media men that they will prepare a report and furnish the same to party chief Nitin Gadkari suggesting possible solutions to J&K problem within the ambit of Indian Constitution keeping the aspirations of people of all three regions in consideration.
Singh had also informed media men that the Party on the report will also frame a vision document on J&K and it will also be presented in Parliament. But without taking the cognizance of the same this over enthusiastic party functionary informed some media persons that the report is ready and it will be released soon when the same was denied officially. Though the report was leaked to press a week back but till date the Party has not released the report.
Besides this over enthusiastic Partyman has also after bypassing the media cell of the Party released some vital reports to media persons on their own making the position of the official media cell totally awkward. Taking serious exception to the style of working of this junior functionary some partymen have asked the senior leaders to reign in him otherwise this will hit party's reputation. |
