Sikh Council concerns over rampant corruption in Govt set up | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 25: Taking strong notice of rampant corruption in Revenue Department, J&K Sikh Council today said that prevailing corruption in various department and alleged officials concerned are acquiring much wealth through illegal means and harassing the innocent people. Members of council namely Gurivernd Singh, Manjeet Singh Iqbal Singh Nirmal , Ranjeet Singh Davinder Singh and other in a meeting held here under the president ship of S Harmohinder Singh State President observed that corruption in different departments is adding miseries to the problems of people. "The situation of revenue deptt is worst as corruption is rampant, one cannot get a entry in to record or obtain a genuine farad without paying the bribe. The records of revenue record, Transfer records shows that Kanals of Govt land has been transferred to private land to appease their bosses be it prominent politician, bureaucrats, senior police officer etc. These patwaris has acquired so much wealth through illegal means and harassing the innocent people. They further said that corruption in JMC, JDA and police department too is compounding problems of people of Jammu. "All the urban laws are seen to be only for the common man who is made to run from pillar to post the get the approval of building plans, transfer of land and regularization of posts while unauthorized colonies commercialization of residential area Gandhi Nagar, Chani, Trikuta Nagar raise of finger of suspicion towards these department. "It seems that JMC/JDA authorities are having hand in glove with these big fishes, they alleged. "Though one can not doubt the integrity of the police force as many of them have made supreme sacrifices but for a few corrupt heads the whole force is getting a bad name, they added. Members in the meeting hoped that new DGP Ashok Parsad will put force of this sensitive state on the right track and formulate a clear cut policy for appointing Public related posts to reduce the menace of corruption with the force. |
