Illegal/backdoor appointments in NAC Katra | VOJ presents three challans against two IAS Officers, Ors | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 25 (JNF): Following the directions of the State High Court in a Public Interest Litigation seeking sanction against the tainted IAS/KAS Officers involved in corruption cases, today Vigilance Organization Jammu presented three challans arising out of FIR NO 21/2006 in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu against Mohinder Singh IAS then Director Local Bodies Jammu, Avtar Krishan Raina IAS then Director Local Bodies Jammu, Kartar Singh then Administrator NAC Katra, Sham Lal Sharma then Administrator NAC Katra, Ravi Kumar then Executive Officer NAC Katra and Jagdish Raj Sharma then Administrator u/s 5 (1) (d) r/w section 5(2) PC Act r/w section 467/468/471 and 120-B RPC. According to challans the instant case was registered pursuant to the complaint received in SVO regarding illegal/backdoor appointments made in NAC Katra and on the basis of the verification conducted it was revealed that accused Mohinder Singh then Director Local Bodies Jammu, Ravi Kumar Incharge Executive Officer NAC Katra and others hatched a criminal conspiracy and in furtherance of the same had made some illegal/backdoor appointments in NAC Katra from the year 2000 onwards. According to the investigation during the period 2000 to January 2004 number of persons were appointed/ regularized in NAC Katra by illegal means. In the challans it has been mentioned that the officers named above hatched a criminal conspiracy and made some illegal appointments in NAC Katra and thereby abused their official position. They have appointed relatives of officers of NAC Katra and others in violation of procedure laid down for the recruitment fixed by the Govt. By making theses illegal appointments thus extended pecuniary benefits to the beneficiaries, which amount to the criminal mis-conduct. The challan has named the beneficiaries Ashok Kumar, (tax Collector), Mohan Lal Cattle Pound Keeper, Ram Pal Helper, Deep Singh & Amit Sharma casual loburers and others. After the presentation of the challan, Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Puneet Gupta enlarged the accused to bail with the directions to the parties to advance their arguments on charge/discharge on the next date of hearing. |
