Pakistan fires on Indian posts in J&K

jammu, Oct 4: Violating the ceasefire protocol, Pakistani Rangers today resorted to unprovoked firing on forward Indian posts along the India-Pakistan border in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistani Rangers resorted to small arms firing on the forward border belt of Chachwal along the International Border (IB) in Samba sector around 9.30 am today, said a BSF officer.
BSF troops guarding the border took positions and fired back resulting in exchanges of firing, he said, adding, the cross-border firing continued for over 10 minutes.
There was no casualty or injury to anyone in the firing.
It may be recalled that Pakistan had violated the ceasefire 21 times by firing mortars, rockets and small arms in the past less than two months along the IB and Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
On October 1, Pakistani troops resorted to firing over Indian posts and Chachwal forward village along the International Border (IB) in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir in which a couple was injured.
On September 20, Pakistani troops had violated the ceasefire by opening indiscriminate firing on the Indian side in order to stall digging work to uncover the 550-meter-long tunnel from Pakistan into Indian territory along the border in Chachwal area of Samba sector.
On September 17, Pakistani troops fired RPGs and opened indiscriminate firing of 1800 rounds on 5 Indian Posts in Krishna Ghati forward areas along the LoC in Poonch sector.
Pakistani troops fired from their posts of Daku, Roza, Khair and Battal on five Indian Posts of Dogra, Chajamun, Gorda, Kripan and Kranti.
On September 10, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire twice and fired RPGs and opened indiscriminate small arms firing on Indian Posts in Nangi-Tikri and Sabzian forward areas along LoC in Poonch sector.
On August 21, this year, Pakistani troops targeted three Indian posts of Narayanpur, Pindi and Stop-2 posts along IB in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir without casualty.
On August 19 and 20, Pakistani Rangers fired on Indian posts of Mala Bela, Garkhal and Sidra camp along IB in Akhnoor sector, in which one Pak intruder was killed.
On August 19, Pakistan troops violated ceasefire by firing on the forward posts in Krishna Ghati belt along Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector.
On August 17, there was heavy cross-border small arms firing on Indian posts along the IB in Abdullian and Korotona Border Out Posts (BoPS) from Pakistan in RS Pura sub-sector in which one BSF trooper Chander Rai was killed.
