India Against Corruption

JAMMU, Oct 25: Arvind Kejriwal, India Against Corruption (IAC) leader, who is all set to found a new political outfit next month, is trying his level best to find supporters across the country. He has sent his associates to different parts of the country to achieve the objective. Manish Sisodia, who is a very close associate of Kejriwal, visited Jammu only the other day. He met with a few persons and sought their support for the cause IAC has taken up. This is not something very important and special. Arvind needs the required number of supporters to set up a party, which, according to him, would take on all the political formations, including the Congress, BJP, BSP, SP, DMK and AIADMK, and provide a "credible alternative" to the country. He and his supporters believe that all the existing political formations are corrupt to the core and anti-people and that the time has come for the people of the country to reject all these corrupt formations and give a chance to the outfit he would found next month.
The Team Kejriwal also believes that the formations like the NC and the PDP also are corrupt, anti-people and anti-democratic and it is opportune moment for the people of Jammu & Kashmir to reject these formations and join the crusade it has launched overlooking the opposition of the well-known social activist and Gandhian, Anna Hazare, to the idea of the Team Anna going political. Hazare is of the view that you cannot reform or change the system by becoming part of it, as the prevailing system has all the potential of making the new entrant corrupt. As a matter of fact, he believes that only a relentless social campaign against the corrupt system can produce the desired results. One cannot but agree with him.
As said, Manish Sisodia visited the winter capital of the state, Jammu, the other day to enlist support of those desirous of joining the Team Kejriwal of which certain controversial persons are part. Take, for example, Prashant Bhushan. Bhushan is not only known for positive attitude towards the Naxals or the Maoist terrorists, but also known for his pro-separatist views. He has been advocating Kashmir's independence since years saying the Muslims of Kashmir needed to be given the right to self-determination. Only recently, he was beaten up by some young nationalists in New Delhi in his office chamber. Remember, in Jammu, one of the persons who shared the dais with Manish Sisodia during the interaction with a few persons was the one who has been denouncing India and actively supporting the ongoing separatist movement in Kashmir since decades. He belongs to Kathua and shares the views as expressed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. Earlier, he worked as a close associate of late Ram Piara Saraf. Saraf always considered Jammu & Kashmir an unsettled issue. Besides, he had stood for a solution that suited the Kashmiri separatists and communalists.
The fact that Sisodia shared platform with a well-known supporter of Kashmiri separatists, who was also present at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, the day Kejriwal announced his decision to float a new political party, does suggest that the credentials of the Team Kejriwal are quite questionable. It's no wonder then that Sisodia failed to evoke any positive response in Jammu. It would be no exaggeration to say that the Kejriwal's Mission Jammu failed the day Manish Sisodia shared the dais with the person who is known for his controversial views on Jammu & Kashmir or who has been supporting the anti-India cause of the Kashmiri separatists.
