| Sharp differences among Sangh affiliates over hijacking of Dussehra function by Cong | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 25: Sharp differences have cropped among the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) affiliates over the use of Dussehra celebration platform by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad for targeting BJP and its national president Nitin Gadkari here yesterday.
The veteran and strong RSS activists who head various social and cultural organizations as well as BJP leaders did not attended the function in protest against the organizers decision to convert it a Congress sponsored function instead of maintaining its tradition.
These activists according to sources have not only voiced their concern against the decision of organizers to convert it an official function and provide platform to the Union Minister to target BJP and Gadkari whose induction as Party national president was only made on behest of top brass of RSS have also taken up the matter with top leaders of Sangh in State and national level as well.
On the one hand the Sangh and its affiliate organizations are holding Congress and former Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru responsible for the presnt crisis in Kashmir and on the other hand the Sangh affiliates are providing platform to Party to criticize the BJP and Sangh, a senior RSS activist has reportedly told the present Sangh leadership in the State, sources said.
Sources said that the Sangh activists while taking serious exception to criticism made by Azad to BJP and its national president have also dashed a letter to top brass of RSS leadership in New Delhi early this morning informing them that it was on the insistence and behest of RSS top brass that Gadkari was appointed BJP national president in 2008 and a proposal was also mooted on the instance of Sangh leadership that his term was likely to be extended this time again after the organizational poll process is over.
Sources said various affiliate organisations of Sangh have also alleged that they were not even extended the invitation by the organizers and this way they have for the first time defied the precedence set earlier. Such an arbitrary decision of organizers has not only been viewed seriously by the activists of RSS and its affiliates in the state but have decided to take up the issue during the next Saman Bhi meeting of the Sangh with force.
They said the organizers of the Dussehra function are part and parcel of the Sangh and how they have taken a unilateral decision of defying the leadership and converted Dussehra celebrations as a Congress function which previously was celebrated as a social cum religious function only.
The Sangh activists have also informed the top brass that such an action on the part of the organizers will also damage the poll prospects of BJP in neighboring HP as this will give wrong signal among the voters as BJP was a political wing of RSS and Party has always been attacked by Congress and NC as a communal organization having its deep roots in RSS. |
