| NPP demands rejection of 'NC-Cong' candidates nomination | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Doda, Nov 26: National Panthers party (NPP) leaders Harsh Dev Singh and Balwant Singh Mankotia have alleged blatant violations of code of conducts and abuse of Govt. machinery by the ruling ministers in the MLC elections from panchyat quota being held in the state. After staging a protest in Doda here today, the NPP leaders in a complaint lodged with the election observers, The NPP leaders made a specific reference of violation of model code of conduct by Davinder Singh Rana and RS Chib, both ministers in Doda. The NPP leaders said that the aforesaid Ministers used red flasher lights during their election tour of Doda. "Despite the fact that the use of such lights has been banned in writing by the election commission during the electioneering period, NPP leaders said adding, "secondly the two ministers used the Govt Dak banglow at Doda today for holding election rally. The complainant further alleged said that several officers were made to attend the election rally in the said Dak banglow and such officers were also found persuading the voters to vote for ruling alliance candidates. Earlier a protest march by around large number of NPP workers in Doda town after passing through the main bazaar and culminated near the DC Doda office. Harsh Dev Singh in his address during protest made a fervent appeal to the voters to vote and support NPP candidates in the o going MLC election. He rebuked the NC Congress govt for its failure to fulfill the demands and aspirations of sarpanche and panches regarding incorporation of provisions of 73 rd amendments in the state. He further said that postponement of BDC elections was a ploy used by the govt to deprive the panchyats of their legitimate rights. He said that it was NPP alone which had been fighting for the rights of panchyats in the assembly and vociferously projecting the issues and concerns of sarpanches and panches in the assembly as well as outside. In his address Balwant Singh Mankotia castigated the state govt for its total betrayal. He said that panchyats had not only been deprived of their lawful rights and claims but had also been deprived of their legitimate remuneration which was due to them under the act. He said that NPP shall ensure full justice to the panchyats and redressed of all their genuine issues in the event of election of their candidates as MLCs. |
