Jammu, Nov 28 : State BJP stalwarts-party President Shamsher Singh Manhas, State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul, National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh, National Executive Member & Nagrota MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma, State General Secretary Sat Sharma (C.A) alongwith other senior leaders are out to win over the hearts of voters comprising of Panches and Sarpanches in favour of party candidate Col. Uttam Singh and Rashpal Verma for J-1 and J-2 MLC elections, in far-flung areas of Jammu region. Jugal Kishore Sharma, Ashok Koul and Sat Sharma campaigned for Col. Uttam Singh at Rajouri where they addressed a gathering of more than 80 Panches and Sarpanches. Prominent Panches and Sarpanches among those who attended the meetings were Zaheer Ahmed, Ajub Khan, Abdul and Rukhsana Kousar. While interacting with them, the BJP leaders stressed on ruling government's bluff on "their commitment to empower panchayats". In this context, Jugal Kishore Sharma made fierce attack on NC and Congress leaders who just to woo the Panches and Sarpanches are again replaying the music of their commitment to empower panchayats while they could easily do it immediately after the election of the Panchayats 2 years back. Ashok Koul and Sat Sharma categorically stated that NC-Congress leaders cannot be trusted as neither they have any policy nor have any intention to empower Panchayats and so they are actually against making the Panches and Sarpanches empowered with all the tools of empowerment. At Rajouri all the BJP stalwarts alongwith party candidate interacted with voters at Budhal, Thana Mandi, Manjakot, Drahal, Doongi blocks and Chowki Choura. Meanwhile, Jugal Kishore Sharma proceeded for Triyath for contacting and campaigning for the BJP candidates where he addressed several meetings of Panches and Sarpanches. BJP candidate J-2 Rashpal Verma accompanied by Shakti Parihar addressed series of meetings comprising of about 70 Panches and Sarpanches at Doda and Thathri. Prominent among them were Basant Thakur, Subash, Shahid Rashid, Bhushan Rao, Raj Kumar Bhagat, Mela Ram, Noor Mohd., Haji Mohd. Ayub, Des Raj, Rashpal Singh, Sandoor Singh. |
