| JK Congress to get reorganised after Gujarat poll | | | early times report Jammu, Nov 28: Reports from New Delhi have indicated that a major reshuffle in the Congress organisation in Jammu and Kashmir was to be carried soon after the end of the Assembly poll in Gujarat. According to these reports, the Gujarat Assembly election was scheduled to be completed by December 13 and reshuffle in the Congress party at the national level was to be carried out either towards the end of December or the beginning of the new year.And the reorganization of the Congress in Jammu and Kashmir was to be linked with the reorganization of the party at the all India level. Reports said that while the party high command would reorganize the party in Jammu and Kashmir in a way that could reduce the level of conflict between the dissidents and the loyalists,it would persuade Chief Minister,Omar Abdullah,to concede a long pending demand of the congress for expanding the council of ministers so that two party leaders were given berth in the Ministry. Party sources said that the high command has not yet decided whether some members of the Council of Ministers,headed by Omar Abdullah, were to be dropped to work for the organization or retain the entire team of Congress ministers and induct two new faces. Sources said that while the loyalists in the state unit of the Congress had conveyed to the AICC leadership that in the interest of the party Saif-ud-Din Soz be retained as the PCC chief. However, the dissidents,led by Ghulam Nabi Azad,have been favouring Soz to be replaced by some senior leader.The camp may not oppose if Peerzada Mohd.Syed or G.A.Mir or Taj Mohiuddin,in case he is absolved of the land grab allegations,get a chance to head the party in Jammu and Kashmir. Party sources said that both the loyalists and the dissidents, especially the latter, support induction of G.A.Mir in the cabinet. They said that Rahul Gandhi, who has decided to play a vital role for revitalizing the Congress at the national level to face the general election, due in 2014,confidently,would have a major say in the reorganization of the party in Jammu and Kashmir. They said that reorganization of the congress in Jammu and Kashmir had become imperative to end the tussle between the dissidents and the loyalists in view of the Assembly and the Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be held in 2014.
