Omar's game plan stands exposed

Jammu, Nov 28: The National Conference game plan of desperate measure to secure win of its candidate in the forthcoming MLC elections stands exposed when chief minister had a meeting with the expelled seven BJP MLAs.
The expelled BJP MLAs-though latter denied- had called CM as most forthcoming and secured this seat in the Assembly, clearly reflecting reciprocation of his stand in the next elections.
NC it appears that is cagey about winning the election and had already conceded this defeat. Party knows that in Jammu region, where BJP had secured 11 seats in last Assembly elections- it wouldn't be possible to secure win of their candidates if it can't find support of the expelled BJP MLAs.

These MLAs were expelled from the party in the last MLC election for ensuring win of the NC candidate.

The Cong is banking and canvassing to seek support of its candidate. Though, both parties are contesting in coalition but on the ground, there is strong resentment among the Cong cadre against NC candidate and it could go against it.

Perturbed over the media exposure, the NC statement had denied any such support from the expelled BJP MLAs and had merely said that while the National Conference appreciates Professor Chaman Lal Gupta and the six other legislators if they have offered to extend their support to the National Conference in the Legislative Council elections but said that they can only accept their support if it is extended to both the candidates of the coalition viz Sham Lal Bhagat of the Congress.

This game plan not only exposed the intention of the NC but also its secret approach to even ditch the Cong though the CM is saying that next elections would be contested jointly.

The expelled BJP MLAs have though said they had merely called on him to discuss some developmental issue. but it doesn't stand ground on account of the fact that timing is not only critical and also because they leaders could have discussed it with him separately.

A section believes that CM himself deliberately ensured the leakage of this meeting so as to further discredit the expelled BJP MLAs and thus putting them in a corner to ensure that they have no other way other than to support NC.

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti had repeatedly said in the Assembly that Omar Abdullah had not only discredited and divided the party headed by statesman like AB Vajpayee but is using them as daily wagers to his own political purpose.

CM has now sought to get work done by the expelled BJP MLAs for the pittance given to them by Omar Abdullah, which eventually has also discredited the NC and it will backfire for it especially in Srinagar. '
