Gurpurab celebrations held at Digiana

Jammu, Nov 28 : Guru Nanak Dev Ji Parkash Utsav -544 was celebrated at Gurudwara Digiana Ashram, Jammu. Around one thousand people from all walks of life assembled at the Gurdawara and paid their respects to the Guru.
Sikh United Front J&K, Bhai Kanayia Nishkam Sewa Society J&K Shriromani Youth Akali Dal, A.J.S.S.F Sikh Welfare Society, Sikh Naujawan Sabha participated.
In the said religious congregation Ragis and Preachers highlighted the Guru Nanak Dev Ji education towards the humanity for equality, brotherhood and help the needy and poors.
S. Sudershan Singh Wazir, President, Sikh United Front J&K, Ex-president,· State Gurudwara Prabhandakh Board J&K, Spoke on the life and history of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and stressed upon Sikh Sang at to follow the education shown by first Guru. He said that prior to Guru Nanak Birth the rulers of the country were very much cruel to the humanity and injustice. He said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji said "Ek Pita Ek Hum Bariq" we all the living in the country are one and god is one. He further said that we have to maintain love and unity with the humanity and serve the nation and work for the betterment down trodden. He informed the sikh Sang at that Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch has been invited by the Sikh Sangat ofuttarkhand, as a special invitee to attend the Guru Nanak Birth Anniversary by the Management Committee of Uttarkhand Gurudwara for the preaching of Sikhism outside J&K also. He also supported the resolution passed by the Sikh Sang at and told that the Medical College foundation stone by Dera Nangali Sahib Trust is being started within days and tilt: Jate of foundation stone shall be announced very shortly. The information of the date of foundation stone at Jevan Nagar (Maralia Road) shall be announced.
The resolution which were passed on this occasion appealed to Hon'ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, - Coalition Government J&K To set up a Minority Commission, inclusion of a Sikh Minister in the state Cabinet, appointment of Two Members in J&K services selection, Board and Public service selection Commission, respectively reservation in Govt. services, for the Sikh Community, implementation of Punjabi languages in J&K Schools, permanent settlement of POK of 1947 Refugees and payment of property left behind in 1947 and issuance of 30 lakhs per family to the Refugees and given the employment to the unemployed to the refugee community. Those who participated were S. Ramnik Singh Bijral, S. Mohinder Singh, S. Narbir Singh, S. Paramjit Singh, S Galian Singh, S. Kulwant Singh, S. Rajinder Singh, S. Manmohan Singh.
