| Violation of MCC by Rana | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 28 : Former MLA Faqir Nath and Provincial President (Jammu Province) of NPP has contested the statements issued by National conference denying the violation of Model Code of Conduct and use of Government Dak-Bunglows besides others violations by Davinder Singh Rana, Political Advisor to Chief Minister. He said that. Rana has been using government DakBunglows at various places for convening meetings of various Sarpanches, Panches and has even been summonmg government officers to election rallies to promote the prospects of ruling alliance candidates. Faqir said that Rana has used government Dak-Bunglows in erstwhile Doda District, Udhampur District and Rajouri and Poonch Districts after the announcements of elections for MLCs and has been throughout using red flasher light on top of his vehicle. He said that Rana, who is an extra constitutional authority needs to explain his locus as well as the circumstances and intentions with which he has been summoning the Deputy Commissioners and other officers for meetings during the currency of Model code of Conduct. He said that if Rana had not committed any electoral offence, he should have himself invited an independent third party probe rather them getting a refutal statement issued though one of his deputies. Nath further questioned the announcement being made by the chief Ministers and the political Advisor regarding payment of remuneration, provision of incentives and insurance cover besides other facilities for the Panchayats Members. He said ruling Ministers are resorting to deceptive slogans and false promises to hoodwink the Panchayat members and to lure them to vote for alliance candidates. He urged upon the Election Commission to take cognizance of all irregularities and violations of Elections Laws being committed with impunity by Ruling Alliance failing which the NPP would agitate the issue on streets besides taking the legal battle to courts. |
